a 'MASTER'-ful weekend!

This was a weekend I will not soon forget. As I stated in earlier posts we went to Stone Mountain for their annual 'Breakfast with the Characters' in which we got to meet Dora the Explorer, her friend Diego, and The Veggie Tales (Larry and Bob). That was cool and I will post some pics when I figure out how to do that.

Then it was off to a birthday party for our little cousin Joshua. The party was all Spiderman themed including two (yes two) Spiderman Inflatables in the backyard. When the party started each child was issued his very own Spiderman outfit to wear including a mask and the all important tights. Soon after they were in their new uniforms Spiderman showed up to train the kids on what it takes to be your 'friendly neighborhood superhero'. Once training was over we had lunch, cake, ice cream, and opened presents. As the kids were eating I went outside to return a phone as I was sitting on the steps I hear a gallop, I look up and there are two ponies standing there. Yep we have ponies ladies and gentlemen. Next we have Spiderman come back but this time he was captured and tied up by the evil Todd the Destroyer. The kids had been issued their official web shooting string and were off to capture Todd and untie Spiderman. They were successful and Todd was laid out under a spiderweb. Overall one cool party.....I wonder what Batman is doing later this month?

That brings us to Sunday well almost Sunday. During the party on Saturday I received a call asking me if I would like to have a couple of badges to The Masters the next day. What do you say to that? Sunday at The Masters? You say YES!!! Now of course the next day is Easter and I know I can't skip that no matter how badly I want to go to The Masters. So here is the test of priorities do you skip church or do you go to the most prestigious golf tournament around? Here is what I did, I went to my bible study class (where we had a record 21 kids attend), went to our Easter service (which was unbelievable), then jumped in the car drove to Augusta and watched The Masters.

We made the trip from Buford, GA to Augusta in just over 2 hours not bad. We pulled into the parking lot as the final group was teeing off. There isn't much you can say about Augusta National except WOW! When I saw the fairway I just wanted to go roll around on them, the tee boxes looked fake, and the sand traps looked like a beach in the Caribbean. We followed Phil for a while, saw Sabatini make an amazing putt, saw Tiger smacked his second shot into the water on 15, and just stood in amazement at how far these guys are off the tee. This was a cool experience. Sunday at The Masters.....what a way to end a MASTERful Weekend?
